If you love the signature tailoring and minimalism of COS, I think you’ll love this shirt! It’s actually from Dunnes Stores, but looks like something you’d see in COS. It’s a little more edgy than your classic boring white work shirt with its layered effect. Check it out here. Admittedly, I think I’d prefer if it was a tiny bit more fitted, but it’s so comfortable and feels so nice against your skin. A fresh white shirt is a must for work.
You’re totally covered up, so it’s work appropriate but it’s smart and casual enough to wear outside work. I always like to buy garments I can wear not only for work, but for everyday wear. I teamed it with navy viscose trousers from Penneys (€10). I find that viscose material very flattering – I promise it will suit any shape or size. The shoes are from Clarks – I appreciate quality shoes for day long comfort.
I wore this simple pendant tucked under the shirt collar. This is the piece I wear every day. I’m always asked about this one. It’s a sombrero, which originally was a charm on my mum’s charm bracelet. Too many charms dangling on the bracelet just wasn’t my style, but I loved the charms individually so I got them removed at Wehrly’s Jewellers. I have a selection of interesting charms that I wear as pendants, but this is my favourite.
I started a brand new job today, which is exciting. So far, so good. Change is always good in my eyes. It’s a risk but I reckon: nothing ventured, nothing gained. I love this time of year: back to routine. I just get unproductive when I’m not working or busy.
I think the geometric designs by Salt of the Earth would be absolutely perfect with this shirt too – particularly the triangular shape. This shade is from their latest collection, available at Shells Café.
