Hey folks!

It’s back to the rain… which means back to normality, back to the laptop and no more putting things on hold.

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything, but I was taking time out as I do every so often – to enjoy life off-line! I’ve been busy with jewellery making parties, spending time with family and getting back on track with a bit of exercise. I was also making the most of every ray of sunshine, as I think everyone was!

I have a giveaway coming up this week to celebrate something exciting!

It’s a selection of gifts: jewellery and accessories from independent stores in Galway, which I picked up at their first ever Galway Fashion Trail. This was one of the best events I’ve attended and I discovered so many new shops. There’s some Irish Design thrown in there too, of course!

So… the latest!

At the end of March, I was contacted by the new editor of GALWAY NOW MAGAZINE ahead of my closet clear-out. She was interested in one of my treasured pieces and as it just so happened I was due to travel to Galway that very day for a girlie getaway with my mum and sister! We met at the Radisson and she asked if I was interested in contributing to the fashion editorial of Galway Now. I was thrilled! It was totally out of the blue and very unexpected. We had a lovely informal chat and I suggested ways to revive the magazine a little and help put her own stamp on the publication.Galway Now | modaFix

I have two separate pages, which are my very own monthly features.

  1. One is called TREND BYTES where I discuss my modaFix monthly favourites in fashion, Irish design, skincare/beauty, eateries and lifestyle. This is an ideal opportunity to promote Sligo to their readership of 62,000! The magazine is distributed to all the fab hotels in County Galway.Galway Now | modaFix

2. In my second feature: STEAL HER STYLE I show you how to recreate looks as seen on bloggers and fashion icons. My plan is to feature some of my favourite bloggers. It will also be a platform for budding bloggers! For my first issue I chose another local blogger called Marian of Petit Stiletto. She’s worth checking out on Facebook and Instagram. I enjoy her updates of sophisticated styles, achievable casual looks and love how her theme is consistent throughout. I think you’ll like this blogger a lot! She also regularly shares pick-me-up posts and useful parental advice about children’s behaviour.Petit Stiletto | modaFix

Being the doubting Thomas that I can be sometimes… I didn’t tell a soul until I got my hands on the May issue!

It’s out now and I love how my features have turned out. The design team is excellent and this magazine is very fashion focused. I am so happy to be part of this beautiful glossy publication, which is known for its exceptionally high quality of fashion, editorial, beauty and lifestyle content.

These ladies are behind the prestigious IRISH FASHION INNOVATION AWARDS, which I attended recently and loved. It is a key platform for young designers in Ireland, known as The Fashion Oscars!

I hope you’ll pick up a copy! It’s out now and Roz Purcell is on the cover. Locally, you can buy it at Easons in Sligo.Roz Galway Now | modaFix

Sometimes this little blog brings me surprises.

I don’t do it to become the next Pippa or SoSueMe, it’s just a means of discussing interests and a passport to new opportunities.

Thanks for reading!

Here’s to promoting our beautiful west coast lifestyle and celebrating Irish Design.
