modaFix jewellery hits London Fashion Week!

Hey folks!

I’ve been off the radar on social media as I’ve just started a new job and I’ve been busy in the evenings working on some very exciting orders (scroll down!) Thanks again for your interest and feedback. My first batch of earrings at Shells Café sold out in less than a week. They’ve since restocked… so get them while they’re hot. I’m very happy with how this batch turned out.

The latest:

I didn’t want to say anything until the flights were booked, but I’m headed for London Fashion Week!

Shortly after I wrote the piece about designer Emma Curtis taking to the runway at LFW, I was contacted by House of IKons, who said loved my article and asked if I was interested in blogging live from the shows! What do you think? Can you believe it?

I was genuinely so happy for Emma – little did I think I’d be invited to blog live from LFW! Dream.

I  jumped at the chance.

House of IKons celebrates the new generation of global fashion talent, with an emphasis on innovative fashion. It is a fashion house known for launching emerging designers, so that really interests me. Katy Perry has worn creations by House of IKons designers, so it’s a fantastic opportunity for EmMarie (Emma Curtis’ label).

I’ve always wanted to go to LFW. I’ve been told it gets a little crazy. Manic. I still want to go see what all the fuss is about – especially now that I actually have an invite to a show! It’s probably not wise to just rock up and hope for the best as I’d previously thought about doing. See, I wanted to go in February, but as you may know, I was unwell and recovering from some unexpected surgery. I learned that it’s not normal to be in such pain. Know your body!

I’ve said before: when you want something badly enough, I think that eventually, it can happen – when the time is right.

One of my oldest and best friends is flying in from Amsterdam to join me and we’re making a girly weekend of it. I’m not sure which I’m more excited about; I just cannot wait.

Think that’s exciting?

Emma’s mini graduate collection was inspired by shells, sea-life and Sligo’s beaches. She asked me to make 3 pairs of my handmade shell earrings for London Fashion Week – to accompany her designs. I couldn’t believe it when I got the email. I sent all off this week ahead of next weekend’s show. It’s an exciting time.

Emma will be wearing my pieces too for her interviews. The show will be live on ITV London from 6-7pm on Saturday 17th September and Sky TV will be filming too, but I’ll be sure to keep you posted from the show (Snapchat: @moda_fix  Instagram: @modafix).
