We’re off to SeaFest! I was so happy to be invited by LookWest to showcase my designs at SeaFest in Galway this weekend.
We’ve had a busy week preparing for the event and it’s surprising how much you can get done in such a short time frame – when you’ve the right people to help you out, of course. We’d been working on a brand new label anyway, but this was the perfect opportunity to finalise the logo and have all ready for my stall this weekend.
I kept everything local! I’d admired Nooneboy‘s work for ages and I knew I wanted him to do my logo. Kevin is very patient, gets what you’re after and is deadly to work with.
For our boxes, which are made from recycled card, I enlisted the help of local wife and husband screen-printing and design duo Pulled. Edel and Dany specialise in eco-friendly, water-based inks. Screen-printing has always fascinated me and I did a workshop with Pulled as part of Sligo Design Week last November. Read my review here.
I really hope you like the result.
I wanted something simple and memorable – in line with my designs and something that captures where we’re from (and where I spend most of my free time) – by the sea. For all my future design pursuits, we finally settled on a design, which I’ll be showing you at SeaFest.
SeaFest is a weekend of action-packed, free family-friendly events at Galway Docks. You can discover all about our oceans and the creatures that live beneath, as well as the ships that transport us. Enjoy seafood cookery demonstrations by celebrity chefs and LookWest.ie will host a series of talks and events from 10am-6pm each day focusing on creative business in the West of Ireland.
The line-up will include inspirational speakers, performances, a showcase of brilliant West of Ireland products and businesses all inspired by the sea. Speakers include Finn Ní Fhaoláin, author of Finn’s World, Ashleigh Smith of The Atlantic Equipment Project and Barry Mottershead of Sligo Kayak Tours. See full line-up here.
I will be there on Sunday from 10am-6pm showing you my latest jewellery collection Silver Linings, alongside a small selection of my handmade Shell Collection. We’ve a couple of weddings this weekend, so unfortunately I can’t make it before Sunday, but It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and spread the word and I’m really delighted to be part of it, thanks to LookWest.ie. If you’re in Galway or passing through, please come say hello! We’d be so happy to see you. Read all about the inspiration behind my new collection here.
To celebrate we’re doing a giveaway – starting tomorrow – so please stay tuned! Keep an eye out for my new logo too.
If you’d like to browse or shop my new collection, visit our online store here. All our pieces are handcrafted at Leitrim Sculpture Centre. My designs are available in sterling silver, solid gold (9ct) and rose gold plate.
See you at SeaFest this Sunday (2nd July)!
